Denton, Texas · Digital Laundromat · Est. 2026
The first fully digital laundromat built for how renters and college communities actually live — app-based, cashless, and designed for people who deserve better than a broken coin machine.
The Founder
I spent fifteen years as a registered nurse — bedside care, hospice, long-term care leadership. In 2020, I contracted COVID-19 during the first wave while working direct patient care. The virus attacked my kidneys. I lost them.
What followed was not a slow recovery — it was a complete restructuring of my life. The career I had built my identity around was gone. The license I had earned was surrendered. The body I had relied on to show up for patients every day was permanently changed.
I spent a long time grieving that. Then I started paying attention differently — noticing the gaps, the places where people without access, without transportation, without options were quietly struggling with things the rest of us take for granted. One of those things is laundry.
Swish exists because I know what it means when a system wasn't designed with you in mind. I am building something that was — for Denton's college community and the dense renter population around it: tens of thousands of people who deserve a laundromat that actually works.
I bring a nurse's discipline to this: systems thinking, protocol, and relentless attention to what can go wrong. Living with disability is part of how I got here — it sharpened my eye for friction and the small failures most people overlook. That's why Swish is engineered above all for ease of use: simple, reliable, and effortless for everyone who walks in.
The Concept
Swish replaces the coin-operated, cash-only laundromat experience with a fully connected operation. Every machine. Every cycle. Every customer interaction — digital from start to finish.
Target Markets
Every competitor in these markets is coin-only or coin-primary. Zero operate an app or loyalty system. We enter where legacy has stalled.
Certification & Capital Impact
The DOBE®, WOSB, and Texas WBE certifications are not background details — they are capital instruments. Together, they compress the $660,000 two-site capital requirement to approximately $135,000 in net investor equity.
Grants and SBA preferred lending — both unlocked specifically by these designations — absorb the balance. No competitor in any of our target markets holds any of these certifications.
At exit, a DOBE® + WOSB + Texas WBE certified two-site portfolio commands a 15–25% premium over an uncertified operation of identical size. The certifications transfer with the business.
